We'll tell you as soon as tickets go on sale:

Making his second visit to Sadler’s Wells, after his debut in 2009 with the award-winning H3, Bruno Beltrão has gained international acclaim for his totally unique style, questioning the established, masculine structures of movement and the stereotypes of hip hop. Combining elements of this urban dance form with contemporary influences, his work straddles the border between the analytic and the physical.

Along with his Grupo de Rua, founded in Niterói, Brazil, in 1996, Beltrãodeconstructs traditional hip hop dance in order to create choreography that explores theatrical space. Multi-award-winning, Grupo de Rua have performed in 30 countries, and continue to challenge preconceptions about hip hop dance, and its place in the theatre.

His new show, CRACKz, is dedicated to the cultural dissemination and appropriation that has been made possible through the use of computer technology. In the making of the piece, Beltrão has asked his dancers to select choreographic material found on the internet, developing a nomadic piece of dance, a piece without roots.

“Bruno Beltrão knows how to transform hip hop dance, using it as a choreographic tool that has never been seen before" LE MONDE
